Knitting yarns and specialist wool products

Welcome to our on-line shop. We specialise in products made from natural fibre, wool, alpaca, mohair and silk. Since we launched last November our knitting yarns have become highly popular and are still selling well into the summer as our customers are already knitting for the autumn! The yarns are all in natural colours, but an organic dyed range is coming soon and free samples are available.

The spring sale is over, but a few wide Shetland, Gotland and alpaca scarves are available for £10 each as we want to clear them to make way for new stock. The narrow ones are down to £7.50.

There are also a few throws which are ideal for picnics: the Castlemilk herringbone, Ryland with Castlemilk check, Manx Llanwenog and the pure Zwarbles have all been slashed by 45% to £35, but only for the month of June. We still have some Gotland and organic throws at £75, a reduction of 25%. These are great for patios, conservatories and outdoor living.

We've also introduced a special summer price of £80, down by almost half, for the lightweight Wensleydale-silk throw which makes a great wedding gift and is ideal for those long summer parties.

All the wool in our unique range of yarns, as well as being available to buy in balls, hanks or cones, is also used in our products, throws, scarves, cushions and blankets.

Every product in our range uses British wool processed by The Natural Fibre Company, our specialist mill on the Devon-Cornwall border near Launceston.

Why our knitting yarns are so different

There are over 60 different sheep breeds thriving in the UK and the qualities and characteristics of the fleece they produce varies enormously - if you want to learn more visit our Meet the animals pages.

We frequently know precisely where the wool for some of our products comes from. To learn more about this visit the About our products section.

This means that the supplies of some of our products are limited because once we've used it all no more suitable wool will be available until the next shearing. As a result our products carry an authentication certificate which includes a number and year just like specialist bottles of expensive wine.

Although we started with an exclusive range of yarns and flat goods, blankets, throws, cushions and scarves, we have plans for furnishing fabrics and specialist clothing using different types of wool sometimes blending it with alpaca, mohair or silk.
