Since we launched a year ago, our knitting yarns have become highly popular and we have launched an organic range of natural and toning, over-dyed shades in both DK and four-ply.

All the wool in our unique range of yarns, as well as being available to buy in balls, hanks or cones, is used in our products each one of which uses British fleece processed by The Natural Fibre Company, the specialist mill on the Devon-Cornwall border near Launceston.

Why our knitting yarns are so different

There are over 60 different sheep breeds thriving in the UK and the qualities and characteristics of the fleece they produce vary enormously - if you want to learn more visit our Meet the animals pages.

We frequently know precisely where the wool for some of our products comes from. To learn more about this visit the About our products section.

This means that the supplies of some of our products are limited because once we've used it all no more suitable wool will be available until the next shearing. As a result our products carry an authentication certificate which includes a number and year just like specialist bottles of expensive wine.

Although we started with an exclusive range of yarns and textiles, including blankets, throws, cushions and scarves, we have just added scoured and carded fleece for spinners and felt-makers. Longer term we have plans for furnishing fabrics and specialist clothing using different types of wool sometimes blending it with alpaca, mohair or silk.
